Dr. Lisa Pennington serves as a member of the local Charlotte Area Independent Admissions (CAIS) assessment team.

CAIS Admissions Testing is appropriate for any child who will be eligible for JK/TK, Kindergarten, or Grades 1-4 the following school year.

Applicants receive a cognitive assessment
recommended by the Charlotte Area Independent Schools (CAIS) which includes the following:

Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI-IV) for rising JK/TK, K, and Grade 1 applications

​​Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC-V) for rising 2-4 grade applicants

The standardized cognitive assessment is a tool used to provide parents and schools with an objective evaluation of their child for admissions purposes.

CAIS admissions testing for the 2025-2026 school year can be scheduled starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
