B.S./M.A./LPC/NCC

As a North Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor, Sydney has a huge and growing passion for play therapy.  The value of play in a child's life cannot be dimmed down to a number but can be seen to affect their development, self-esteem, boundaries, confidence, and so much more.  Using a fantastic playroom just for your child, with toys hand-picked for their needs, she believes that they are capable of healing from within given the right tools and a little help from adults. Play Therapy focuses on children starting at age 4 through adolescence and uses scaffolding as they grow and learn how to express and identify confusing emotions that may come up through adversity.

Sydney received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Statistics from Virginia Tech.  She also has a Master’s Degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in Mental Health Counseling with a focus on Play Therapy.  She has been practicing for close to 5 years in several different settings, including private practice, agency work, and schools.
